How Long Can You Store Seitan?

As long as you store it in an airtight container in the fridge, it should be good for up to a week to use again and again in leftover dishes. If you aren’t going to use it right away, you can store it in the freezer for up to 6 months – as well as long as you have it in a freezer approved container.

Can you eat Seitan on a Keto diet? 

Yes, you can. It’s high in protein and low-carb. When it’s made, the starches are literally rinsed off, making it a great food addition for your low carb lifestyle.

Can I eat Seitan on a Gluten-Free Diet?

Seitan is primarily made from wheat gluten. So if you’re wheat or gluten sensitive, this may not be the meat substitute for you.

That being said, Seitan has been eaten for thousands of years in multiple cultures – so it’s a tried-and-true meat substitute for vegetarians and vegans worldwide. In other words, if your gluten sensitivity is mild enough, it might warrant a test.
